Alan Turing

Birth: June 23, 1912

Death: June 7, 1954

Major Academic Events

Alan Turing studied mathmatics at King's Collage of Cambridge University. At the age of 24, he published a paper exploring what can be mathematically proven through expirments.

Contributions to Computer Science

Alan Turing decoded Germany's Engima's using a computing machine he designed, called "Bombes" during WWII. He's impacted computer science by creating the "Turing machine" which was a prototype of a computer, which used math to represent a computer. He has also created a paper where he simulated models on computing machines he worked on, this helped set the stage for artifical life.
